Depending on your nationality, a visa is required when intending to travel to France. All visas must be applied for prior to departure at the nearest French Embassy or French Consulate in the applicant’s country of residence. The type of visa required depends both on the duration and purpose of your stay in France. You want to attend or participate in the congress related to your professional activity. You will be issued a short-stay visa valid for the Schengen area or a French non-European territory depending on your destination. It will allow you to visit France for the duration of your visit, which must not exceed 90 days. To obtain your visa, you must demonstrate or prove the link between your professional activity and the purpose of your trip.

Ask the invitation letter accurately describing the activity, the purpose, the duration and the location of the Congress from the Congress Secretariat at

Check your situation and requirements with the visa wizard.
